Gilstrap Field Airport is a private use facility that is open to grass strip enthusiasts. If your aircraft can handle a 1700’ turf runway with a summertime Density Altitude of up to 3,800 feet, then drop in and see us sometime. Call first for a runway condition report. However, feel free to buzz the field anytime. As always: land at your own risk.

Ponca City Regional Airport Terminal Building. There are no scheduled passenger airline flights at this time. Years ago there was an operational FAA Flight Service Station on the second floor where pilots could walk in and receive a weather briefing and file flight plans with FSS personnel. Located on the first floor is Enrique’s Mexican Restaurant. |
|
The FSS may be gone but there is now an unmanned FAA ATC facility that provides communication links and weather reporting via an ASOS (Automated Surface Observation Station). It lies beyond this door on the second floor. It is interesting to note that the original CAA (Civil Aeronautics Administration) sign has been carefully maintained. The CAA became the FAA in August 1958. The sign therefore has to be more than 50 years old. |

There’s a fly-in breakfast the first Saturday of every month. Current price of $6 for all you can eat. Very well attended event. Put on by the Ponca City Aviation Boosters. |
